England - Lake District to North York Moors

The Station Hotel across the road from Penrith Castle ruins lies not far from the railway station. The Roman fort of Voreda sat in what is now known as Old Penrith a few miles north of here and sections of the Roman road were uncovered by archaeologists in 2017.
